HORRIBLE! RENTERS BEWARE! I called on Tues. Aug. 10th to reserve a car on Thursday and Friday for a funeral. The car was to be delivered at 3 pm due to the fact I had to be at the funeral preparation event at 4 pm along with some family members. I made it clear, if by chance the car would not be available to inform me as this is very important occasion. Well, lets move to Thursday. I was outside waiting for the car and no car. So I waited another 15 minutes and nothing. I tried to call the driver but nobody picked up the phone. So I called the company whereby they also tried to call, and again no answer. Customer service said they would call me back shortly, but never did. So again I called and same situation with no call back. So then it was close to 4 pm and I called again. Still the driver was no where to be found. At around 4 15 I received a replacement car from the local area. The car was dirty and the situation frustrating as it was close to 4 30 and I was supposed to be in another city at 4 pm. Since this was for a funeral and others relied on me for transport, it created a mess. The driver who delivered the car was friendly and professional, but this didn't change the circumstances. So Friday came along and contemplated extending the day, so I called the company. I figured the company would offer some discount, but nothing. I was only told to write to the company. So I declined to extend it and suggested maybe to use the deposit. But after looking at the facts, thought this was not right. Basically no attempt was made to resolve this So I called again, and spoke with Mirella. She said she will write to her boss asking if they could give me a day free.She put me on hold and then said everything was taken car of. So Saturday I returned the car at 6 pm as was agreed. So Sunday I called the company to release the funds that were blocked, but could not reach anyone. I was on hold for an hour before I hung up. I tried again later and same situation. So Monday arrives, and I call again. One person basically gave me little info. and said I have to wait 14 days. So I called again, and that person said the car was returned late and for that reason the deposit was not released. Then I responded with frustration, and at that moment she read the notes further which indicated the 2nd day was provided free due to the previous circumstances. She said the blocked funds would be released in the evening, but obviously were not. So again I had to call. And the best part is the person that helped me on Saturday, now was changing her story. She had a different attitude today as I did, but in my case, rightfully so. She said I suggested to take the deposit for that day. Yes, those were my comments at the beginning of the conversation on Saturday, but later I though why I should do that. It was at this point Mirella said the company would give me a day free and just need to get it approved by her boss. She put me on hold and returned.And we agreed the car would be returned at 6 pm. But her attitude took a different turn saying the calls are recorded, which for me is a good thing. I even mentioned this would be a great story for my friend to write about. It was the most unorganized situation I have had in years. Interestingly, last year I rented from the company, and the rental ran smoothly, but not this time around. The girl Mirella today changed the story somewhat, stating the 2nd day car rental was based on the charges would be taken from the deposit. Once they listen to the conversation from Saturday, they will hear a different story. So for any customers considering renting a car, BEWARE. If things run smooth, then the experience will be fine. But if you have an important event or if some problems arise, it will be a nightmare. I think I spent a couple hundred zloty just on phone calls. Of course they will reply with some excuse, but people reading this, you as the consumer can make a fair judgement what happened. So Express Car Rental based in Krakow get a thumbs down, and I see from other reviews, others also have a bad
